The course for 2019 starts behind Tunnel Creek Cafe, Incline Village, Nevada & finishes at Spooner State Park.
The first 3 miles of the run follows Tunnel Creek Road (jeep road) climbing approximately 1500 feet to the Flume Trail and the first of two aid stations. The next 4.5 miles along the Flume are flat and narrow (sometimes very narrow) single track of some of the most spectacular views you will ever experience.
Use caution, as this section has very steep drop offs and can be challenging for those who are afraid of heights. Although some of you may think that this section should be flat and fast, it is quite the contrary. The breathtaking views along this 4.5 mile section will literally stop you in your tracks. Every turn seems to reveal a better view to snap on your smartphone. To help keep traffic flowing, we will have a professional photographer out on this section of the course taking event photos of every runner.
When reaching the dam at Marlette Lake(7823 feet), the course continues for 1 mile on dirt road along the westside of Marlette before making a hard right back onto the Marlette single track trail. This section of trail starts with a half mile climb on their way to Marlette Saddle, the highest point on the course at 8200 feet before some very welcomed 3 miles of glorious downhill. At the bottom of the downhill, runners will exit onto North Canyon Road for 1 mile of mostly flat running to the finish.
